He has a point. In these days where one can reassign one's name and gender, why not just pick an age you identify with? Better than being discriminated against, which, confoundingly, businesses still get away with on grounds of age. *

I'm applying right now to have my age reassigned to the age of my body. About 95 ought to be right. Then I can put my feet up and take it easy like everyone expects of a man of such venerable decrepitude.

(Awaits @bicycleheader to tell me he was right all along about my age/values).

Completely missing the point once again that gender is not the same as sex. The clue is in the term 'transgender', not 'transsex' - because the latter is impossible.

Age isn't an identifier - it's a biological fact. Similarly, a transgendered person switches gender but retain their sex. A trans person can identify as a woman but is still biologically male.
