Championship Thread 25/26 Season

9LeagueTitles5FACups

Player Valuation: £8m
Just seen that Leicester have appointed Cifuentes as their new manager, so I thought I would start a dedicated Championship thread for the upcoming season.

My predictions:
Promoted - Southampton, Sheffield United and Coventry City.
Relegated - Preston North End, QPR and Hull City.

Table:
1. Southampton (C, P)
2. Sheffield United (P)
3. Ipswich Town
4. Leicester City
5. Coventry (P)
6. Norwich City
7. Wrexham
8. Bristol City
9. Derby County
10. Blackburn Rovers
11. West Bromwich Albion
12. Middlesbrough
13. Watford
14. Birmingham City
15. Millwall
16. Stoke City
17. Charlton Athletic
18. Oxford United
19. Portsmouth
20. Sheffield Wednesday
21. Swansea City
22. Preston North End
23. QPR
24. Hull City

My prediction will probably turn out to be miles off the final outcome, but I am intrigued to hear anyone else's predictions and thoughts on the upcoming season.

I can get quite a few games via Bein and find it a good watch.

This afternoon me and my lad are off to watch Wrexham in a pre-season friendly v Wellington Phoenix. Looking like a fair sized crowd. Added to the likelihood of them getting more followers down under is them signing ex Nix player and NZ international Liberato Cacace

Just can’t see Wrexham making still another promotion bid, it takes a completely different plan to jump from the Championship to the Prem. Need to get secure for a year or so and then continue the climb.
Who did it recently? div 1, championship, PL and survival? Was it leicester?

I think Wrexham's run of promotions will come to an end this season (hence why I placed them 7th in my predicted table). As you have suggested, they would probably benefit from a season or two of just staying in the Championship and developing from there. If they were to get promoted this season, they would likely be relegated from the Premier League the following season.

Personally, I don't want them to get promoted. I view them as a team centred around hype and little else.

Wellington Phoenix 1 - Wrexham 0
Crowd of 25,000. Tidy enough game. A bit disappointed in Wrexham tbh, best effort on target was a crazy deflection.

It's the hardest league to predict, looking at the sides involved there seems a case for a few of them. I'll wait to see what happens in the transfer market before making a call. I'm with @BainesontoastNEW ,like to see sheffield Wednesday do well, all three relegated sides should be in the mix, I'd add Birmingham City to challenge for the play offs.
