Two domestic and no european trophies in three years? Real have sacked managers for doing better, before.

This is the era of Barcelona though. I think he can be pointed to as the man who (when at Inter) showd the rest of Europe how you stop Barca and beat them. His time at Madrid he put a dent into Barca's domestic dominance. He defo saw Guardiola off.

There's differenmt yardsticks to measure success and failure across the years. Yes, he's had wads of cash to spend and no he hasn't won Big Ears. Not an unqualified success; and not the failure his detractors (mostly of his giant ego) think it to have been.

I think taking the title, even for just one season, away from the team which defines this era of football is a massive achievement. He was the first to outwit Guardiola and put such pressure on Barcelona that it sent him into hiding for twelve months.

The failure to win the Champions League will be held against him in Spain but it's an incredibly difficult competition to win no matter how much money a club spends (see: Manchester City).

I still rate him as one of the very best in the world and expect Chelsea to win the title next season if he returns.

klopp will be next real boss i think. hope mourinho doesn't go back to chelsea and would absolutely hate him at city, suppose being at united would be just about bareable but that would mean their dominance is guaranteed to continue.
