It could actually be worse that that, Mikey.

If say Manchester United won the CL but finished outwith the top four in the EPL........and Everton won the EL and got a CL place.....there would then be 18 of the 32 teams from the four leagues.

Its not final, its maybe of the first ones. What is important is that they started the process. I am hoping to live to 2056 and see what football will become.

In that case fourth wouldn't go in CL. Like Spurs in 2012.
 

It should just be the champions from every league in Europe in a knockout tournament. 2nd 3rd and 4th in the Europa league

I didn't see that particular rule. I saw only those two previuos links in thread. So, decline is even quicker than i thought. :)

This is the last paragraph in uefa website article http://www.uefa.org/about-uefa/admi...tml#uefa+club+competition+format+from+2018+qa

So, i think that if winner of CL don't finnish in CL places in the league, than the last team that occupies one of those places wont play in CL next year.
