Cesc Fabregas - What a belter

Due to the fact dives can cost a team points by having a man sent off or a penalty. I understand sometimes it can be difficult for a ref to see everything. I think the only way to stop it if goes unnoticed in the game but if looking back over the game it's deemed a player has dived. Then the player gets red carded and the team he belongs to gets points docked. Simples especially if that team got an advantage by the player diving.

Needs to be dealt with post match definitely.

In the NRL, anything that seems out of the ordinary or the ref can't make a call on get's put "on report", and in the week a judiciary follow it up and apply bans/fines. This HAS to happen in football!

I doubt a thing will change any time soon, which is a shame because it's what most fans want. FIFA/ FA will go about their business ignoring it.

I remember back when players were honest, possibly before the influx of foreigners in the 90's. Now everybody does it. The thing that baffles me is how they are willing to make fools of themselves faking it when everyone can see on the replays what cheating tw@s they are. Embarassing...

We have 'On Report' here in SL too. Generally a good idea - but I sometimes feel it can be a cop-out for refs who don't want to do the right thing at the time.

You know how it is - I punch you in the face, the ref sends me off, then the ref gets the blame for letting the game get 'out of control'.

The 'on report' system can often mean - I get away with it, my teams gains the advantage, and I might get a week off (with pay) in the near future.

I take your point though.

I see what you're saying, and obviously League is a different game to football, their theory is that is takes away bad decisions like incorrect red cards so the game isn't ruined, and putting a ban on them for future matches is the punishment. I don't think that'd work in football as there are more opportunities to be snidey in football and make game changing decisions.

There defo needs to be something done about this stuff after full time though.

The problem with post match bans is the team who are cheated don't see any benefit and potentially lose out.

For instance if Torres Dives against Arsenal, gets banned, Chelsea play Man Utd when he's banned then Man Utd getting a result becomes more likely.
