Is it just me or do we lack the balance in the middle. For me the most crucial is a centre midfielder who receives the ball and plays a pass (essentially Gibson without the man boobs)

Thoughts?

We play two negative center mids every game without fail, Why we need two DM's for the likes of WBA/Palace/Sunderland baffles me

We also have a poor AM

If only we had a complete midfielder in the squad, somebody that can pick a pass, somebody who can make a tackle, somebody that can run games from the centre of the pitch, if only we had a player that plays like Zidane in his prime, oh well, better play The Clev instead hey.

If fit for the second leg against Man City, I'd put good money on it we'd have gone through.

Cleverely and Mccarthy are both completely inept at passing too might I add. Mccarthy is especially gash at any kind of attacking pass. Stevie Wonder would have better vision in the midfield.

But it's our system more than our players.

Said it before, I'd like someone along the mould of Gündogan; someone in the middle who has offensive and defensive abilities and isn't a crab.

Good work-rate, happy to throw a tackle in but can move forward with the ball and has the passing ability to open up games and run at teams.

Barry has had a great season but that's not in his locker any more. McCarthy on the other hand, he's looked muted for a fair while now!
