when barry retires, besic should be his natural replacement! Him or mccarthy anyway, ledson will be the understudy then, i don't think we need to buy in that area for a long while barring sales.

Barry playing deep with Cleverley and Barkley ahead of him, Cleverley offers more going forward than McCarthy, him coming into the team has coincided with us playing some great football at times.

gibson fully fit is brilliant but wouldnt pair him with barry, mccarthy and besic both good players aswell but cleverley offers us more going forward, i dont really get the mccarthy obsession, good player but offers literally nothing going forward

Ossie has seen his best days and should be used only in an emergency but a fit Gibson(like rocking horse shiz) is worthy of competing for position in my opinion.

Would have McCarthy, cleverly and Barkley, despite Barry's excellent form this season... Think Barry with cleverly and Barkley doesn't allow enough protection to the back 4 as Gareth isn't mobile enough any more to cover the gaps. If McCarthy unfit needs to put besic in to give some bite
