Honestly think Besic will shine this season. McCarthy/Besic will be our midfield at some point this season. Can't see it at the start but when Besic gets a chance, I think he'll impress enough to keep it his own.

His passing is excellent, his range of passing, he's a proper little snide and we've been missing that at times. He's settled, adjusted, a few tweaks this summer and I personally think it will be McCarthy/Besic before long.

it's probably still too early for besic to take over barry. who knows, he'll play more than last season you'd have thought. if gibson's getting a new contract we simply have too many players there.

McCarthy and Barkley for me. I don't believe its defensively the strongest so would be mainly used for home and lesser away matches for now with besic/barry stepping in for the more difficult games.

We need a real #10 in behind Lukaku to provide him with a link and some creativity, Barkley just hasn't proven himself to be that player but far more effective when hes able to power into space so think with a natural #10 this is the only place we can start to build barkleys career to, more so for the fact that martinez has always talked up barkley as exactly that type of #8 player in the style of Ballack/Lampard.

Strangly enough the CM options will depend onwhat wide players we play. Dont reckon Gezza has 40 games in him for a season as being so quick he will cop his share of reducers and that means injuries.
Would be great to get Lennon in as it will improve our right flank and thus promote it to something like the axis of terror we all marvelled at on the left flank in the heady days of Baines and Pienaar.
Has Cleverly been brought in to be Osmans long term replacement? Are Barry Osman and Hibbert now into there final 12 months?

Theres all sorts being made about our need for a specialist play making stand off striker - can we afford such a specialist when a huge element of our strength is versatility. If we get a real top draw player for the number 10 role is he and Lukaku the first names on the team sheet and so are we expecting 38 league games and at a guess another 8 cup games out of them? Point being injuries and suspensions hit and with no back up or plan B we are hugely exposed and then limp through a stretch of the season like we did last term.

I fear if Barkley doesnt have a standout season the pressure will build on him like it did Rodwell and could well crush him. So far as CM goes hopefully McCarthy stays and we rotate through him Barry Barkley and Cleverly the cherry on the cake would be the novelty of having Gibson available for any 10 consecutive game stretch during the season.

Cleverly. Mcarthy, Barry-Besic, cant say gibson as he isn't fit enough to include although a very good player when fit, Barkley to get shoved behind the striker needs to buck up as he offers little in midfield defensively as positional play is all over the place , big season for him after his powder puff performances last year, will be interesting to see him and del boy as it could give each other a bit of space going forward.
Cleverley to be player of the year

The voting is a bit off, because we always play 3 in CM

I think the best balance is;

McCarthy Besic

Barkley

When we play teams that park the bus, the best option would be;

McCarthy

Barkley Cleverly
