Me too, got wait another year though, not due for release until 2022.

This will be the 6th census that my name will have been entered into the records.!!

Thinking about it I realised there will be many people unaware we do this every ten years. In 2011 anyone under 18 would have left it to the head of household, so there is possibly a whole generation who have never heard of it.
Then there is also people who have moved here and settled for whom it will be a new experience all together.
I will post some blurb about census 2021 for those who are unaware.

Census 2021 will provide a snapshot of modern society

Households across England and Wales will soon be asked to take part in Census 2021.

The census is a once-in-a-decade survey that gives us the most accurate estimate of all the people and households in England and Wales. It has been carried out every decade since 1801, with the exception of 1941.

It will be the first run predominantly online, with households receiving a letter with a unique access code, allowing them to complete the questionnaire on their computers, phones or tablets.

“A successful census will ensure everyone from local government to charities can put services and funding in the places where they are most needed,” Iain Bell, deputy national statistician at the Office for National Statistics, said.

“This could mean things like doctors’ surgeries, schools and new transport routes. That’s why it is so important everyone takes part and we have made it easier for people to do so online on any device, with help and paper questionnaires for those that need them.”

Census day will be on March 21, but households across the country will receive letters with online codes allowing them to take part from early March.

The census will include questions about your sex, age, work, health, education, household size and ethnicity. And, for the first time, there will be a question asking people whether they have served in the armed forces, as well as voluntary questions for those aged 16 and over on sexual orientation and gender identity.

Results will be available within 12 months, although personal records will be locked away for 100 years, kept safe for future generations.

...I actually worked on the 1981 Census. No Internet in those days, my area was around Hurst Park Drive, Huyton. it entailed dropping off and collecting forms but I survived.

I cannot imagine enough people taking it seriously any more. It was a big thing when I was young, almost a duty, but now people are just lazy.

When I did my family history, one of the most interesting by-products were the census forms, which provided information about neighbours and the type of work that they did. Jobs whose titles you don't recognise or which no longer exist. I got back to 1800 but as my great, great grandad came from Ireland, we hit a brick wall. We know he came from County Cork but we don't know exactly where and with only church records available you need to know the exact location.
Went to Cork City to see what I could find but apart from finding out that Cork City is one of the nicest places on the planet, I didn't have much success.
