Apart from Stones,our other central defender options are not getting any younger(i still love them though).

I am not saying they are bad but next season we may have to play week in and week out(CL/EL).
So,considering that buying a young CB is a must.
Who will be your preferred choice???

31 isn't old at all for centre backs. Players tend to play longer the farther back their positions -- it's not unusual to see a 40-year-old keeper, but you'll never see a 40-year-old striker. Yakubu being the exception, of course.

Simple solution, give Browning a full pre season with the first team, get him blooded in the league cup and early fa cup games, depending on what European comp where in - then get him games in eufa too, or if CL then play him in league games around the CL games, If he's half as good as stones then he will grasp the chances and develop quickly enough that buying a new cb is the least priority for us.

Pretty sure that Martinez will already have this idea like from the way he brought stones along this year anyway

Why are people so desperate for us to buy players in positions we clearly don't need anyone? We've got 3 experienced centre halves who've got plenty of gas left in the tank, plus Stones so that's 4. Add Browning, who Bobs clearly rates, and we've got no less than 5 defenders. No club, not even Man Utd, needs more than 5 centre halves. We need midfielders and at least 1 striker, not more defenders eating up valuable wages and squad space, that's why we got rid of Heitinga
