Catalan Independence. A football perspective

do you really think Villar and the Spanish federation would allow rhat?

Maybe I've misunderstood the thrust of your original post, but you were suggesting that Barcelona would either remain in La Liga, or be in a tiny Catalan national league. Once independent, they would have equal justification for joining both Spanish and French leagues, given they border both. Given the resistance to Catalan independence so far from the Spanish govt, not sure why Barcelona would certainly want to rejoin La Liga.

I am not referring to what Barca want but suggesting they haven't a hope of entering ligue 1 due to Spanish influence. The French won't want to encourage any of this stuff in Brittany or Corsica either

Everybody is talking about where would Barca play, but what about Espanyol? Just how funny would it be if a team named ESPANyol wins the French league?

Imagine the fume of the French if that happens.

Well they do have Monaco already, which has MONACO in the name.
