Player Valuation: £90m
Had a relatively new PC monitor to sell, bought for £200 about a year ago. Decided to see what Cash Converters would offer. Never used them before.

The same monitor new still retails for £149, and mine is in pretty much new condition.

Offered me £10-15 lol

Has anybody ever had a decent offer from them for anything ? Seems they're just massive rip off merchants.

Honest question, how much did you expect?

They are running a business, not a charity.

They just use eBay to price up their gear mate.

Cex are decent for competitive prices.

Cash converters are all franchises, as are Cex, but Cex seem to specialise in tech gear, whereas Cash converters try and sell everything.

The Cash converters in Liscard was busted, years ago, and it was all nicked gear virtually, so I think that's factored into their pricing now.

cashies buy low sell high as a business model. If you are taking it there they can offer you whatever they want and it's your choice to accept it or not.

Not many people know is how they rip people off, buy on loan for the customer to pay back with interest, except they keep hold of the item for another month if the customer can't buy it back, for a considerable fee. so take an 80 quid offer, it would probably cost 15 quid just to stop them selling it on you if you couldn't buy it back at the greater price than what they sold it to you as, and that money doesn't come off the price, so a couple of months at 15 quid, plus the hundred to get the item and they have made 50 quid from the customer.

It is shady practice but considering the target market who go there to sell/pawn they are taking advantage of the situation.

mot only that, look where they normally are based, poorer areas or areas close enough to them.

It's a business. They're out to make money.

Was your monitor boxed?
