Cool

I was at a car show in Sacramento one and met James Hetfield who was there with one of his cars. Nice guy (as long as you wanted to talk cars - he made it clear he didn't want to spend all day talking about Metallica)
Doesn't he have a few hotrods/muscle cars?

And a custom hotrod that he drove about for a bit in the Some Kind of Monster DVD... Black Pearl or something.

Black Pearl is a completely hand built car. He had a 51 Mercury at the Sacramento show. He reckons he has 8-10 cars on the go at any one time. When he sells them , he gives the money to charity.

Still, he has $175million in the bank so he can afford the toys.

If the Euromillions comes in.....................

Ha, ace that.

Oddly enough if (or when? No chance, but hope dies last you know) I get rich I'll probably get quite a few cars myself, and at least one to completely "fix up" myself.

I think I might be buying this next month. Currently on a container ship from Texas to the UK

1968 Mercury Cougar

The missus is gonna have a fit

£12k including shipping it over and duty

It is completely original. 302cu.in engine, auto box. Puts out around 220bhp so not a flying machine but I just want it for posing down the coast road and listening to. Nothing beats the sound of a V8 engine.

It's a weekend toy, so mpg doesn't bother me. It is free for road tax and on a low mileage insurance policy will be under £200 a year for an 'arl arse like me.

Saw an FAQ sign at an American car show at Tatton once that said

Q. What mpg do you get get?
A. That's not the point

Q. How does it go round corners?
A. Neither is that
