Could have been worse I suppose... they could have paid 35 million for him.
Nah mate because of the Torres fee, King Kennys genius and the guiding hand of shanklys spirit Liverpool actually made a healthy profit on the deal.
Or so my Red mate told me.

Looking at the link, that's 14 months off since September 2012 ffs

September 2012 - Picks up hamstring injury in his first game on loan - out for a month

November 2012 -
Twists knee against Manchester United - sidelined for two months

May 2013 -
Damages heel in the last game of the season - out for seven months

July 2014 -Tears
ankle ligaments in pre-season - expected to be out for four months

That's a nightmare for a small club like West Ham

I think he should just retire

He's risking health problems for later life if he keeps getting hurt like this over and over again

He just might not be physically up to playing at the top level
as if he's just going to give up his fat contract . He will be happy letting west ham pick up his medical bill.

Dont hold any malice against the guy once he left the RS. Awful buys for two clubs. How on earth did he pass the medical for West Ham if he was out for seven months when they bought him?

I always thought he is more of an Everton-type centre forward than anything Liverpool FC could have made the most of. It wasn't his fault they were prepared to pay so much for him. He didn't particularly want to leave Newcastle anyway by all accounts. Too injury-prone. Huge shame for the lad.
