He probably isn't appreciated as much because he's only won 3 league titles in 20 years of management. Which is poor considering the teams he's been at.

His record in Europe can't be disputed though. 3 Champions League's is incredible.

I would say he is - one of a select few to have won 3 CL titles, more than Pep and Mourinho and massively less hyped than those 2.

He has been a manager for longer though. Admittedly I don't rate Guardiola as highly as most -- he did a great job with Barca but if your only two jobs are with Barca and Bayern in their peak, then surely it's not as bulletproof a record as someone like Mourinho, who has done it all over Europe and even with some weaker teams.

Ancelloti is a classy guy though. Having a dream team is one thing but actually getting it to play like one is harder than it looks.

I remember singing 'your gettin sacked in the mornin' at him when Beckford scored that goal against Chelsea on the last day of the 10-11 season were he got it by the edge of our own penalty area and ran the full length of the pitch with it and slotted it. He was sacked the same night.

Good point that the Guardiola knockers would do well to take into account. Re Ancelotti, true he's been a manager longer and has probably also won less league titles I would've thought. CBA checking but he think he only won 1 or 2 with Milan in 7 years, 1 at Chelsea, an easy 1 in Paris and none in Spain so far.

His Milan teams were extremely good. Such is the situation in Spain however I think it's difficult not to have a great team. I regard his work with Milan and Chelsea more than I do Real.

The point was aimed more at Ancelotti.

Getting a team of no ego schoolboys (as Ibra likened them to) to unselfishly funnel everything through the best player in the world is easier than accommodating all of the egos in that Madrid side. How you can get so many players that would be the star man in almost any other team to play cohesively I don't know.
