Goodison will be bouncing after the victory over Sheff Utd.

You're optimistic. I suspect our league form will have a bigger part to play.

If they take a lead the deafening silence and few tits screaming insults at our players won't help.

The only advantage is if we take a lead and assert some dominance. Then the crowd will make the difference, but to think we'll be able to easily take a lead against and dominate West Brom is wishful thinking. They've become a very good team under Hodgson.

which plays into our hands perfectly.

Couldnt really ask for much more from todays draw , I was waiting for pinnochio and Mcinally to conjure up a horrible one for us , so fairly pleased with what we got , couple that with a great/fortunate result for us makes it a decent day all round .

Home draw, good for the coffers. Can't imagine West Brom will be putting too much into the league cup. It's not like their Prem status is a lock.

Would you take winning the Carling Cup this season if it went hand in hand with a relegation struggle you didn't know the outcome of?

I would. 1995 was a loooong time ago.

No chance , not even the f.a.cup , 17 years is waaaaaaaay too long for a club like ours to wait , but imagine us playing as we are right now , would you fancy us if we were , lets say a point inside the drop zone with 5 games to play , to get out of it ?

I know I wouldnt .

I'd take that chance all day long. We're a competitive football organisation, in this sport to win a trophy not just grind out an existence in the PL. Five games and a point to make up: if we couldn't get out of that situation we'd deserve to drop like Birmingham did.

The fact we dont have many players who have been involved in one before , Jags being the only one who springs to mind , doesnt fill me with confidence either .

It would be a gamble , and im crap at gambling so maybe thats why im saying no .

Fair enough mate. I'm just thinking out loud.
