Words almost fail me. The lowest of the low carrying out a regime of physical and mental abuse on the most vulnerable.

Two year sentence was the longest meted out, right down to 4 months.

Bullet in the back of the head it should have been. There's no place in civilized life for vermin like that.

One of the bits in that documentary that most disturbed me was when they made a girl with severe learning difficulties stand outside in sub-zero temperatures in wet clothes.

The only other place I've heard of that it was used as a torture method in a book called "The Eyes of the Tailless Animals", which is a survivor of the North Korean gulag's first hand account of their experience.

Four months to two years is an absolute f*cking disgrace. I've had mates get more than that for growing a bit of weed.

Have you seen the videos of the abuse? Truly disgusting and, yes, ridiculous sentences.

It's to be expected though. For example;

The court was told that Hobson had stabbed a love rival five times in the chest in a daylight attack in front of shoppers in Selby in 2002, leaving him with a punctured lung. Hobson had admitted grievous bodily harm and managed to avoided a prison sentence, instead receiving community service.

And yet...

A man who disrupted this year's University Boat Race has been jailed for six months for causing a public nuisance.

Great Britain indeed.

Very valid point.

I volunteer at a special olympics club, helping out people with Downs syndrome etc and i know just how vulnerable people can be. To even think of acting like that is despicable when you are in a position in which you have to look out for a persons best interests. They depend on you and you treat them like this.

I literally don't understand what goes through people's minds sometimes. Like what makes them do this? Its fascinating and ****ing disgusting at the same time.

Horrific judgement. There's no justice in these subhumans being handed sentences as light as that. The worst offender who got two years will be out in 10 months or so if he keeps his nose clean in prison...hopefully someone cripples the [Poor language removed] when he's in there.

Really upsetting to hear of people as weak as that getting mistreated.

You couldn't make that up. Nineteen of the patients of that place, Winterbourne View, were 'rescued' from there and then were mistreated in the places they were next placed in.

What sort of gormless and corrupt system have they got in place for keeping an eye on, and shutting down, these privately owned torture chambers?

Incredible.

Disgusting. End up in one hell hole to move in to another.

You have to start questioning all types of care homes including those set up for the elderly and children. Whole system needs to be under investigation.
