Player Valuation: £35m
Are we some sort of care home for players, jobs for the lads etc.
when will we ever learn and take a leaf out Crystal Palace book sign young hungry players

Talk of Lingard 30 years of age £150k a week
We have just got Delph & Siggurson off the books, we already have Dele who plays in that position who the jury is still out on.

A few years ago we signed 3 number 10s, we still have not learnt anything

Along with Gray and Dele

So it looks like we’ve bought young, average, and older players in the last few windows…
So you think it's a successful way of doing business, as Gray was good business. Dele the jury is out (as I see a player who CBA) who after 20 games we have to fork out £10 million for and rising.
We also have Begovic & Lonergan as back up keepers, why have we not got a young keeper on the bench?

We need to build a balanced squad. That means players from all age groups and experiences. I’d obviously not want us to plough huge amounts of money into players
over 30 but picking up some on free transfers isn’t the worst thing in the world.

For all the lauding of Palace’s recruitment drive and young manager they only finished a few points better off than where Hodgson’s dinosaurs had them.

Everton have put massive amounts of faith recently in Pickford Holgate Godfrey Mykolenko Davies Gordon DCL Richarlison probably far more than we should have for a lot of these young players at times

Even before that we had a teenage spine under Martinez of Stones Barkley Lukaku all in the first team

We’ve bought some older players recently on free transfers but it’s just not correct to say we’re operating a care home at all.

It could be because we don't have one good enough to play in the PL. Or it's better for their development to go out on loan and get regular first team matches rather than sitting on the bench which does no real good.

Goalkeeper is a unique position where you aren't going to give players 20 minutes here and there, keep them involved and bring them in gradually. Having an older keeper or two who are happy to play 2nd fiddle is not a problem and allows a club to send out genuine prospects on loan.
