If you are drinking in the city centre then head for St Mary's street. You can't miss it the castle is up the top. There are a load of good pubs around by there. The Goat Major, The Rummer Tavern, O'Neils, Kitty Flynn's, Kiwis. Don't go in the Borough as that's a Cardiff City bar. Just off St Mary's St are a number of other good options - The Old Arcade, which is a famous rugby pub but really good, Mill Lane which has a number of classier bars. Close to the Millenium Stadium is a great Wetherspoons called The Gatekeeper, then there's the Queen's Vaults and the City Arms (awesome pub that does a variety of real ales, ciders and about 117 different whiskeys. If you want to sample the local brew its called Brains - the SA is particularly potent. Places to eat include the new food quarter in the St David's Centre 2 - Fridays, Ruby Tuesdays, various Italians and other eateries. Caroline street for curry and chips etc is amazing. Hope this helps people
