Car Knock

Lads, little bit clueless with the protocols of this sort of thing so looking for advice.

Lass on my street knocked last night to say she’d bumped into the back of my car by accident & that she’ll be going through her insurers with it as hers is a mess. Mine isn’t actually that bad from pics I took last night just a few marks near the rear light. I know the girl so no big deal.

Now, my predicament falls in what to do now. I’ve taken pics last night but it was dark so will take some more this morning. Do I need to ring up my insurance or will hers do it all? As it’s a lease car do you think I need to ring and inform them about it?

Cheers.
Alway tell them asap, if comes to nothing all well and good...if not you've CYA

Someone has just gone into me and cracked my front bumper and headlight in the supermarket car park while I was in the store, the only difference is they didn't have the decency too leave a note or anything, they just got off. That's happened to me twice now.

Aaaaaand even with it all being her fault, her admitting it, her contacting her own insurance. Your insurer will put your premium up at your renewal.

Go and see the security lads, it`ll be on CCTV.

Get the reg of the car that bumped you and ask them to save the footage.

Then report it to your insurance, then the Old Bill ( it`s an offence to fail to stop and leave your details )

They may start on about data protection etc, but they have a duty to preserve the footage if you inform them that you’re going to report it to your insurance / old bill

I got to the bottom of our main road mate, looked at the traffic backed up on the A road, and turned back. Absolute nightmare by us at peak time, so I left it. I believe in karma though mate, so hopefully that person who hit me will be feeling what it's like when someone hits you and gets off pretty soon.
