CAR FAILED MOT - Brake compensating valve on the rear wheel !

I thought oh not bad for just pulling to one side at the rear bound to be a leaking cylinder - nothing wrong My friend cleaned them put new wheel cylinders on adjusted them accordingly give the a good brush etc etc only at the last resort did he look at the compensating valves swapped them over and bingo - no mechanic even the MOT tester had know this part to go ever on a saloon car ... so if your car ever does pull to one side in an MOT dont ever think its an easy fix - yes he even tried sawdust..........
two valves for my 1988 MK 3 astra had to come from Germany £79 +£8 P&P the dealer wanted £240 + vat + 8.00 P&P the size of a bullet a sealed unit...
if you look on e bay or Google they are hard to find my car model had 6 different types.........

I was looking in both wing mirrors thinking of you - I tell you anyone with an older cars with back break drums and shoes needs to know look on e bay nothing there ...
I am going to sell the spare one that was working as they are rare as rocking horse poo!

Stayed off the site today after a busy am on it .....
My small fish are now 3 inches in size doing well, not a frog in sight just a wood pigeon thst I lob a stone at it to shift it off my net......
