Hopefully there is a few car lovers or mechanics in here. Maybe both if I'm lucky.

Got an issue with my motor(focus) when driving over 60mph on the motorway. Once I get to that speed and go over that speed the car begins to vibrate quite intensely(not arrousingly). Quite bad on the steering wheel but can feel it in the pedals and in the seats now.

I took it to a local garage and the guy took my two front tyres off and replaced them. Said they were bald in certain parts and will be creating the issue. Been on the motorway a few times since and keep having the same issue.

Any thoughts on what it can be? Someone in work mentioned wheel balancing??

Thanks in advance.

They should've reset your tracking / balanced your wheels when they changed the tyres to be honest. I'd take it back and say they said that changing the tyres would fix it and it hasn't.

Is it kwik fit by any chance?

Had a second hand car a while ago before the online history stuff. It's been in a collision in the one year of its life I didn't own it. Was fine to 70 then rattled like a bugger. Couldn't be tracked and needed expensive work to fix. Traded asap.

Good luck. Hope it's a basic alignment/balancing issue.

If the shake is only bad on one side, have someone fat sit on that side? Should help buffer the shake.

Nah mate it wasn't. Have been there since I needed new brake pads and came away with new brake pads and a coolant tank change. How it went from brake pads to coolant tank I'll never know.
