Jags is out the next few weeks. Today Osman got the armband, but given a full strength squad, Osman likely won't even be on the pitch. So who should have it?

Poll now up (sorry, first poll for me).

I went Howard although I personally dislike having a keeper as a captain. Hard to have much effect on the field or ref in goal.

Baines and Distin would be my next picks.

I think Barkley and McCarthy may be some excellent options in a few years, but not yet.
Barry is class and would be (has been) a great captain, but I don't think Martinez would skip deserving full-timers in favor of a loanee.

Voted Barry but that's all dependent on how he functions in the squad. If he's a mentor and a voice for the team then the players should have no problem listening to someone with his experience. If he's staying on the periphery as he's a loan then it should be Distin.

Went with Distin. He's been healthy and (mostly) a rock. Been with the club a while, so I imagine he gets what it means to be an Evertonian.

Agree with McCarthy or Barkley, great guys who leave it on the pitch. With more seasoning, they, or Famous Seamus, might wear the armband.

Baines, recent news indicates he's staying here. For the year. So that's better than a situation like the last transfer window. I wouldn't want to give the Captaincy to anyone who might be looking to get out of town.

Surprised Barry's getting the nod ahead of players who've got beards behind them in our blue (Howard literally, tho' he wasn't really wearing blue).

Baines for me. Tho' the other debate about Oviedo would mean Baines plays LM, Bryan keeps the LB spot.

But Baines for captain, definitely.
