Capital Punishment

I do think prison should be to keep dangerous people away from the general public. And burglars, cos they deserve to be locked up. But someone who kills someone cos they momentarily looked the other way whilst driving, well they're hardly a psycho or a menace to society, so I don't see the point in locking them up.

Because they ended somebody's life through their own negligence? They should absolutely be locked up, a car is a deadly weapon when in the wrong hands. If you can't give the road your undivided attention while your driving then you derserve what you get. Is a human life worth so little these days that some moron can end somebody's life and have it shrugged off because he was driving at the time?

They're hardly a danger to society. I'm not talking about the wanton reckless who hoon about in they crappy souped up cars, but the normal common joe/jane who was momentarily distracted. Do they really need to be taken from their family for one brief but costly moment? Absolutely not.

So, just to be clear, you're happy with innocent people dying as long as more guilty men die? There is no evidence that the death penalty is a deterrent but, despite that you would prefer one innocent person dies so that one hundred guilty people do?

What about the other 100 innocent people who were murdered. Innocent people are being killed all of the time, but we allow murderers to get away with it just in case we get one wrong. The focus should be on those innocents who are murdered. I do not wish to go through all the arguments about why the death penalty is a deterrent again, but an absolute unarguable fact is that murderers who are executed never do it again.......

If they're behind the wheel of a car and not in control and they end somebody's life due to their own stupidity then yes they derserve jail. Somebody's life was snuffed out ffs! If the driver is responsible for the accident then he/she deserves jail time. The other person is dead and the irresponsible idiot driving gets off scott-free, no chance. A year or two in the jail and a life ban from driving is hardly a massive price to pay for ending someone's life is it?

We should just sentence all murderers to a fate worse than death.... make them live in a shared bedsit in Birkenhead for the rest of their miserable lives

what if they have set up a computer programme that sets off a load of bombs upon them being killed?

AHAAA!

You're focussing on retribution rather than what will actually produce a better society. It's unthinking and harmful to society. you are so against innocent people being murdered but not when it's by the state.

To be honest, it comes across as blood lust

Capital Punishment might be preferable to listening to "I was wrong, wrong.. baby I was wrong" on an endless loop.

Could imagine it being popular if they did it for child killers and paedos.
