Can you watch the match with other people or do you have to be alone?

Obviously excluding the lads who go to all the home and aways live, or just being at the match period.

I don't know if I'm weird, but I cannot bring myself to watch matches involving my teams with other people. I hate being distracted and other people talking to me as I tend to get very intensely involved and I prefer to hear the commentators. Plus when my teams lose, I'm usually in a foul mood and if I'm in a pub or with mates I'm not use to them after that.

Anyone else like me or do any of you actually prefer watching with others around?

Depends mate

Mrs choices to go out when Everton are on as she knows she is of no Interest to me when we're playing. So I guess alone. However, i don't have any Everton mates down here. I'd probably enjoy watching Everton with other like minded lads. Couldn't watch us with other teams supporters though. Would do my head in.

But if I'm watching England I'd rather be in a bar with mates as it's more fun.

Don't mind either, I go the home game and being with 30 odd thousand people all willing for the same outcome can be an incredible feeling, I'm off the ale so tend to watch away games on my own

I need silence and I cant stand anybody being near when I watch football, I need to get soak with the game.

I foolishly went the pub once to watch a Derby, it was the 1 where Gerrard got sent off after 20minutes and we still managed to lose, I wanted to kill people, never, ever again.

Never really bothers me. I go all the homes with my family, and to the aways, I usually have 1 or 2 mates (who I made friends with through going the aways - you just get to know people and end up chatting to them) who I either sit next to, or usually hang around with until 10 mins before kick off, at which point we all go to our separate seats. Then for 90 minutes I'm watching the game - it's not like I have to be constantly talking to anyone throughout it.

It's a bit like going the cinema - I suppose in the build up to the film it's nice to have someone to chat to, but once the actual film starts you want to be paying attention to that, so it doesn't matter if you're alone at that point.

Alone. I'm like a tourettes/schizophrenia sufferer during the game so it's best that way.

Occasionally when I'm watching it the mrs will wander in and try to get involved and act interested and ask a stupid question, I give her the look and she buggers off.

You nailed it. The worst is when someone tries to start a conversation about something that doesn't involve the game. Does my head in.

Glad I'm not alone.

Good distinction. If I'm watching a US WC game, being the pub might be fun. Everton? Or any of my American teams? No.

watching our games at home, i want nobody around me. I've tried and failed a few times, can't do it.

The last game i watched in the boozer involving the blues was the derby game at Goodison when Mcallister scored in injury time. Vowed to never watch a game in the pub ever again after that (especially THAT pub, at least 5 of us were barred 5 minutes after the whistle ).

If they don't talk about anything other than the game then they can sit by me, otherwise, go sit in the Kop.

Sorry I thought you meant at the game, I like to be alone or with fellow Evertonians or supporters of the opposition, no neutrals/non footy fans because they tend to speak.

I'm the same way, Everton at home, USMNT at the bar.

I normally watch MLS at home as well, but that's generally out of necessity as most places don't show it. Baseball, which is the only other sport I regularly watch, I'll do at the bar.

I don't mind watching with other people though, or even having a conversation as long as it's game-related.

The only Blue round here, except my old man, and me fell out a few years back, so just me these days.

Bit sad really.

Everyone's usually sleeping when I'm watching the game, but I end up waking them up when I yell throughout the game. None of my friends are blues, I occasionally watch them with my pa when I'm home from school, or my friend, but she's a manc.
