Can we not invite bids?

If we want to sell the club and get new owners, can we not set a deadline where all interested party's are invited to bid for the club? And then we can examine all the bids and see which one is the best to go with, surely this is the way to do it? Only scary bit is if we get no bids!! The RS went down this route and it worked for them. Otherwise we could be waiting years for Bill to find someone for us.
