Do you say "a can of beer" or "a tin of beer"*

Cans in ours, or tins in ours.

Get us a can there, get us a tin there.

* This is part of my ongoing forum profiling.

Cans in ours. Tins of beans.

If we sign Sandro and Keane, it's ALL the cans in ours.

Can, since most are aluminium cans these days, for reasons of weight. Tinned steel cans are heavier and more expensive, and unnecessary in beer which isn't necessarily very acidic.

A mate of mine who's worked in the industry for Bass, Coors, interbrew etc says its cans. So obviously it's 'tins' when he's in earshot.

I live in the land of 'The Tinnie'...which also for some reason what they call a small aluminium boat too.

Tin or can beer tastes better from a bottle.

Can obvs.
