Can Kone and Lukaku be a successful striking partnership?

i always thought we played best with either 4231 or 433 (using actual wingers) and Lukaku lone striker; plus i don't really rate Kone at all. However, i haven't watched today's game and strike partnerships do take time to gel

I'm pleased to see us try 2 up front, however, while Kone isn't anywhere near as bad as the car crash of a player some would have had us believe, he takes too many touches in front of goal - if he was more decisive and a better finisher he'd be a good player.

Let's face it, given the choice of Lukaku or Kone, there's only going to be one winner, and the winner has scored 17 so far this term, so we need to replace Kone.

Kone is ok, but he's no Vellios, is he?

only saw a part of the game, but first start together and we score 3 goals in the league for the first time since our last home league win 3 months back and our first clean sheet with howard in goal for god knows when (probably 3 months ago).
