So let's get this right, terrorism is the fault of multiculturalism? How's that then? Sorry, i may have misunderstoood your post since I'm still laughing at Nordecke's contribution.
Nordecke is correct, the failing has been one of integration. The problems have arisen from that failing and lack of understanding. Those problems in this country were catalysed with the two wars. The extremism and terrorism centre on Islam because of those wars and of course because of Israel and the Palestine question, which for me is the root. The view has been taken that we have been killing Muslims, we did and still are in Afghanistan but muslims are also killing each other in greater numbers currently. Strange though that it seems British muslims do not complain about this but object to our soldiers killing Taleban!
Yes there is multiculture in this country as there is in many others but in many ways it has failed to integrate because some cultures are too diverse as is Islam and their followers are unbending. If you listen to what Islamic radicals say they do not believe in democracy, but a caliphate theocracy is their desire, they do not believe in the liberties that so many enjoy in this country, to them all non muslims are "kaffir" which essentially means beneath contempt so just not non believers (yet we have the same God), They wish to have sharia law in this country when we already have a fair legal sytstem that does not proscribe amputation, stoning, beheading and views womens rights as inconsequential. Thus there is a breeding ground for extremism and terrorism,
So saying Mulitculturalism has failed is correct because integration has failed.
One last point religion and state have been separated in this country but muslims do not separate their religion from government.
