Gentleman, COD4 is and was the ****!! Nothing came close after it.. That's Modern Warfare 1, for people who might not know..

I enjoyed the single player and the online was probably the best out of all the CODs, as they hadn't overcomplicated it yet. With each subsequent iteration they've added more and more pointless crap to make it seem bigger and better, but in the process they've messed with the balancing of the game; killstreak rewards being overpowered etc.

That said, it still didn't hold my attention for long. There's bigger and better games out there for sure.

I think the campaign for World at War was really good though, especially the missions on the eastern front.

I think WaW had the worst of all the campaigns. The AI was cheap and poorly programmed; on higher difficulties they'd just spam grenades. Unlike MW1, MW2 and BO, it wasn't a thrill ride, just a frustrating bore. In my opinion, anyway.

Maybe you're right about the AI, butt I'll put my hands up and say I'm simply not good enough for veteran haha. But I don't think it was boring, I loved the mission when you are sniping in Russia, I think it's called vendetta or something. But that's just me.

Like I said, most of my beef with the franchise is that it's all people play! All I hear in college is "COD COD COD COD COD". It's the same problem I have with people who only listen to pop music. They're two vast mediums, so you know, go out and try different things!

Yeah I agree, another decent first person shooter would be Battlefield Bad Company, I haven't played it but it does look good. And personally I hate all Halo games, just the whole idea of aliens and that bores me, but other people might find it way better than COD.

Battlefield is 10x better than CoD in my opinion. But it's different, too, so personal preference plays a part.

As for Halo, I love it to bits, but I've never played it competitively like you do when you play CoD. I just play to have fun. CoD frustrates me (I get really caught up in kill death ratios, so cheap deaths -- which happen a lot -- peeve me off), whereas in Halo I just mess around and enjoy all the vehicles, cool weapons and now the armour powers.

Different strokes for different blokes, though.
