Latest news I have seen is that Tim is inlikely to play against Man U! This is a big loss. In midweek the team seemed to go backwards when Cahill left, was that coincidence? I think not, Tom was a driving force that was lost when he left.

So any idea what should our lineup be for Man U seeing as we have no lost our engine room in shape of Cahill and Fellaini?

I'd move Nev back to defensive mid for a kick off.
We'll need leadership in the middle, and besides, he isn't at his best at right back for me.

its okay, we can just play osman and arteta in their preferred roles as central midfielders without cahill and fellaini. not saying it isn't a blow (the assist last night was beautiful), but we can still construct a decent midfield using them, billy, pienaar, and donovan.

hopefully moyes will recognize the lack of attacking force in our midfield and play 2 strikers

Rob, it was only weeks ago you were advocating selling Tim Cahill - sure, he's a miss, especially since stepping his form up, but all isn't lost. We have options - opinions of probable line ups for Man Utd are in the Man Utd match thread, example.

My Manc supporting mate was wanting goss on whether Cahill will play.....

He's in form at the moment and is someone they'd feel better about if he wasnt playing.

Watch your mouth dude, and don't be so quick to presume people are ****ging Nev off you prat.[/QUOT

It was not for you BB but for Got you happened to get your post in before me. So sorry for upsetting you it was not my intention.

Apologies.
I thought Cahill was our best player in the first half yesterday, but he isn't consistent enough this season for me to lose too much sleep over him being absent.

Our players will be twitching against the Mancs, so a calm influence is needed smack bang in the middle.

Luckily, their 2 best wingers (imo) are missing, in Giggs and Nani, and that means their focus will probably come directly through Rooney in the center, so a few hard buggers in the middle wouldn't go a miss.
