Hi All,
Not sure if there has been a similar thread over the years - but my business is involved in high-end IPCCTV and security solutions (access control etc).

I want to speak to anyone who would get involved in any aspect of this within a building (estates managers/facilities etc etc) - we also do short term security solutions for construction sites (saves them around 70% on a manned guard solution) - so I also want to speak to any contacts within the construction market sector (site managers, QS's etc etc).

If anyone has any contacts in these areas please PM me and if something were to come from it I would ensure you were rewarded!

Thanks for looking!

Similarly - if others can say what they do business wise and who they want to contact - I'm sure between us we have enough contacts to help each other!

What network you on?

Vodafone, got suresignal as well but if the b/band has a blip then the suresignal needs to be reset, phone still connects to it but gets zero signal until reset. Pain in arse tbh as u dont realise, so I turned it off and rely on the varying signal from the network, I think I'm in a dodgy on every network area which isnt the best when you rely on it ringing.

Had enough tbh and would jump at another option if I could think of one, as I'm making nowt.

Not the best time to be looking for any kind of work really.

Could have done with you the other night mate; got locked in the bathroom for 4 hours!

been to a few of those, had to let myself in someones front door to release them from the bathroom, basically cos bathroom locks are all crap quality.

Increased fuel costs are killing me as well, as it shrinks the area that you are able to operate in.

I have 3's equivalent (Home Signal) - which (touch wood) hasn't been too bad - and if it goes down/comes back on you don't need to reset your phone.

It's not the phone it's the suresignal or sometimes the b/band that needs resetting, the phone still connects to it via wifi but has zero signal. Solution would be it taking the stronger of the 2 signals.

Why not try a free SIPGATE number mate? You chose what area code or 08 whatever and messages are forwarded to you via email (as WAV attachment)- you don't have to pay anything - but obviously means you would have to change any marketing material/directory listings you may have.

Not an option mate as directories and everything else carries my number, also would hinder repeat customers from the last 10 years. Work has basically got less and less but i've plodded on (through necessity really) atm I'd say that I couldnt carry on if it reduced any further.
I'm one of these people that Cameron refuses to acknowledge, in that I AM going out whenever the phone rings, be it daytime or nightime, but I am receipt of benefits cos've having 3 kids, but hey Dave make out that people like me are laying in bed all day, held back by the benefits system.

I know a few Locksmith's (having worked in CCTV for a while) and a few have diversified into other areas like CCTV / Alarms etc.
Have you tried adding a few more strings to your bow?

no elec experience so a lot of that stuff bamboozles me really, and also rtegs would stop me from doing it. It's a 'trade' that has been touted as one of the 'earn a grand a week after a 3 day training course' and so folk have jumped at it with redundancy money etc. the reality being a whole load of folk earning nothing, I dont even earn a grand a month, or even turnover a grand a month. When the phone is ringing you can earn a lot but if it aint ringing then the reality is you have to rely on tax credits.
atm if I earned £10k extra I would be no better off, thats not tax credits holding me back, cos if it rings I do it, its not like I'm saying "feck it its 3 am on sunday morning" I still go out and do the job. The maj would say how can u carry on ? but no choice really.

Adding strings to the bow usually costs as well, which I'm not in a pos to do, been riding the storm for a while really hoping it would get better...... it hasnt.

I know what you mean - but if you keep your ear to the ground and mention to people you now do CCTV as well - I'll help you out.(y) We have the accreditations etc.
