Agard doesn't half score for fun. Good to see Garbutt, Peterlin and Mustafi involved
Everton Reserves secured their second pre-season victory with a 4-1 win against Burscough on Wednesday evening.
Goals from Kieran Agard, Lewis Codling and a brace from Lukas Jutkiewicz were enough to secure a comfortable win over the Lancashire side.
Following first-team appearances against Bury and Rochdale, the match saw the return of Shane Duffy for the clash, while Everton's newest recruits Shkodran Mustafi and Anton Peterlin were also called-up.
Everton took the lead through Kieran Agard just six minutes in, as the striker latched on to John Ruddy's goal-kick to open the scoring.
Jutkiewicz stabbed home an Adam Forshaw cross to double the Blues' advantage six minutes from the break.
Taking a comfortable 2-0 lead into the second half, Jutkiewicz added his name to the scoresheet for the second time on the hour mark. Yet the hosts managed to pull one back with 20 minutes remaining.
Having scored in both of the Under-18s' last two matches, Codling continued his goalscoring form for the Blues' second string, taking the ball around the Burscough keeper and tapping home in the final minute of play.
Everton: Ruddy, Garbutt, Thompson, Mustafi, Duffy, Craig, Akpan, Peterlin, Forshaw, Agard, Jutkiewicz. Subs: Davies, Kinsella, McCarten, Codling.
