Anyone considering switching to BT for internet/phone - DONT. Full of lies and broken promises.

For example, they don't send me an account number so I cant pay my bill. And then they slap a £20 charge for late payment and reconnection! (When they cut me off, they sent me an email with instructions to reconnect. I had to explain to them that when you are cut off, you cant receive emails - kopittes).

I was with BT a few years ago, awful device, loads of problems- moved to sky and touch wood haven't had a problem at all. Really fast Internet, cheap calls and basic TV which suits me.

I had Sky TV and internet, and BT phone. Just switched line rental to Sky coz it was cheaper and all the money goes out as one bill. BT have been pestering me to go back ever since. The only problem I've had was with the line. Internet and calls went off. Sky have to get BT engineers to repair it. Took a week. Maybe if I was still with BT it wouldn't have taken that long . Who knows...

Next time you're out of contract, check out this site:

http://www.samknows.com/

It will show you what's available on our exchange.

I'm with Sky my self and I can't fault them. If yiu can get FTTC though, I'd recommend going with PlusNet. £20 a month will get you 80 meg download and 20meg upload with a 250Gb cap. It's the best FTTC deal available on the market at the moment.

Register with Quidco and yiu can get some cash back with Sky or PlusNet, just for taking out the same offer yiu were going to take out anyway.

DSL IS CRAP!!!! ADSL, ADSL2+, VDSL it is all crap. VDSL gets some decent speeds, but is still limited by network usage and weather.

Oh, and it doesn't matter who you go with, it all goes out over the same lines. Who are the line owners in the UK?

BT own everything.

Disagree it does matter with servic

The different providers have their own servers, but basically it comes down to the technical support and customer service. That is what you are paying for.

You are still limited by the medium of transmission (in this case copper lines) and by usage on your exchange.
