Just finished watching this, respect for Bruno has gone right up, was semi retired but came back and fulfilled his dream.
Remember watching that fight, even walking to the ring, Bruno looked terrified. Then forgot what round it was, Bruno caught him good and proper, stopped Tyson in his tracks and then the fight seemed to go in slow motion. I screamed at the tv, hit him, hit him, but Bruno hesitated and hesitated, ponderous, even fearfull, shocked he had stunned Tyson and the moment was gone. Still think if Frank would have carried on that attack, he would have knocked Tyson flat out, or that the referee would have intervened and stopped the fight. We'll never really know now and that's a shame.
Yep fair play to FrankYeah I watched too.
Remember Harry Carpenter commentating: "He's hurt Tyson, he's hurt Tyson" with disbelief in his voice.
I also recall Bruno saying that Tyson had a habit of making a strange whimpering sound just before landing the knock out punch(es).
TBF, Tyson in his prime (which he was at the time) was an awesome & terrifying boxer.
No chance, Tyson had a brilliant chin and Bruno would never have stopped him, you needed to land combinations on Tyson to take him out, something Bruno didn’t have the ability to doRemember watching that fight, even walking to the ring, Bruno looked terrified. Yes still say to this day half his opponents were beaten before they entered the ring, his reputation, fear factor and ferocity terrified a good few of them.Yeah I watched too.

Na mate Tyson was gone there imo, I reckon a jab would have put him down. Can't remember, remember being gutted when Buster Douglass beat him, but did he use combinations to put Tyson down or was it a good punch ?No chance, Tyson had a brilliant chin and Bruno would never have stopped him, you needed to land combinations on Tyson to take him out, something Bruno didn’t have the ability to do
Bruno was a top 10 contender who, through right match-making, managed to win a belt. Tyson in prison when he heard about it was so depressed thinking about the state the heavyweight division was in whilst he was locked up.
Frank's a good bloke but he was never in the same echelon as Tyson, Lewis, Holyfield or Bowe.
Also you can never discount a big hitter.Bruno was a really good fighter but just lacked a tiny bit of confidence (self belief) at the highest level. He could have done beast mode Tyson and he gave Lewis a good go too in 93. He was still a worthy champion.
