Dutch newspaper reporting that we have made a bid for him, according to them we had an offer accepted and agreed in last transfer window but we didn't follow through because of doubts of Fellaini transfer. Will try to find a link online if the newspaper has posted it somewhere
 

Would love this to be true. Cracking player, can see others being in for him tho. What sort of price would he be?

We aren't gonna get **** for JH to be honest, Feyenoord probabaly looking between 7-12mil for this guy, but they've said numerous times he is one player they are going to sell to raise money, and if we had a deal agreed before maybe we can get a deal done before other parties come in
 

Googled this and seems a few papers have ran this story so may have some legs. Some say we approached feyermoord last transfer window, seem to remember Martinez saying we have plans for all situation , was he possibly the plan if we were to sell Baines? If so is that going to be the same in January? I'd like to see martins indi come in as distins future successor and for bainesy to pick up an injury from December 31st to feb 2nd.
 
Looks like a young version of distin with his pace power and tackling, but also has the added ability of being comfy on the ball with a excellent passing range.

Perfect addition to our defence which is why no doubt we won't get him.
