Based on the times I've seen him previously, mate. Thoroughly enjoyed being there and would go again tomorrow if I could. That said, this is my experience of Bruce:
1985: St James' Park:10/10 - I was 21, we'd just won the league and Bruce was unstoppably ace.
2008: The Emirates Stadium:3/10 - F*cking terrible, terrible sound. Like listening to him in a wind tunnel while your mum was shouting at you. Get to [Poor language removed], Arsenal. Never again.
2009: Hyde Park:10/10 - The night after his Glasto set and utterly, joyously sensational. Jungleland AND Racing in the Streets. A stellar set list. Decent weather, too.
2012 Hyde Park:7/10 - Great performance of an average set list in sh*tty conditions. Macca added nowt other then there being a Beatle on stage (which was, it has to be admitted, quite exciting for a moment or two).
Like I said, glad I went. Loved it. You can have a better time at a Bruce gig, though.
Aaah jealous that you were at the 2009 show. Have that on dvd and he's on top form! Thought he was amazing last night too but I guess with that being my first one I can't compare it to anything really. I quite liked the set list though, was singing along to 90% of the songs which is always a good sign! Agreed that Jake Clemens was great too. Gutted I never got to see the Big Man live but like you say Jake was magnificent. Seems to have a real chemistry of his own with Bruce and is obviously a superb saxophonist as well.
Also I loved Macca coming on, huge Beatles fan and have never seen Macca before so have to admit I really enjoyed that. Although I can see where you're coming from in that we were at a Bruce concert and they played 2 Beatles numbers which I guess is slightly odd Although I'm guessing they might have closed with a Bruce song if they hadn't been shut down by the man. *shakes fist
This is about the best video I got. Some dodgy camera work from myself and the sound quality isn't the best from my little camera bless its cotton socks (well bless its faux leather case anyway) but there we go...
