So took the Mrs to see this today as she'd been banging on about it, and some mates had told me it wasn't awful.

I feared it would be The Hangover for girls and despite being told it wasn't, it so is. Similar characters, but with girly jokes.

Is it just me or are women not as good at comedy as blokes? Don't get me wrong the movie did have some laugh out loud moments, but just didn't connect fully with me.

One for the ladies.

I'd imagine the reverse applies, too.

I know too many funny women to believe women aren't funny. Professional comediennes... well that's another story. It's a male-dominated profession and I can't help but think a lot of comediennes just try too hard, or play off gimmicks too much. That said 90% of male comedians I find no better than okay. For every Bill Bailey there's seven or eight Jack Whitehalls.

I thought it was good not great upon first viewing. I watched it again the other month though and to be fair, it held up to a second viewing very well. It's still not as great as people seem to make out, but it's a really good film nonetheless, in my opinion.
