Player Valuation: £2.5m
Brett Angell, who was the first coach to lead Hawkes Bay United into its first ever ASB Premiership Grand Final appearance last season, has re-signed with the club for the 2015-2016 season.

Angell feels that as the side moves forward into the new campaign the expectation levels will be raised following the success of last season.

“Obviously the expectation levels will be slightly raised, the group did extremely well throughout the season and for that to happen again it’s important for us to keep the nucleus of the group for the current campaign with of course some additions that will strengthen the squad to meet the expectations,” Angell said.

For Angell the question around what will make a successful season for his squad as he heads into his second season with the franchise is no different to the one of the squad last season. Adding there will be challenges as he looks to continue the clubs successful run in the playoffs, hoping to go one step further than last season.

“It’s no different to where we were aiming last year and looking at playoff positions and taking it from there.”

“The makeup of the group I’m sure won’t be identical as last year and there will be new people coming into the group to support it, with other players that were in it last year no longer here to support us which is something that happens quite regularly. But as I said we will look to maintain as many players from last season as possible to continue the successful run built last year.”

nobody's even nibbling so I'll start

1st.

Found his level or proof that you don't have to be a decent player to be a good coach.

Yeah was amused to see he was coaching Hawkes Bay when I went and watched the ASB premiership final this year. Of all the odd places to end up
