is it a serious thing or a joke, wool food or average joe's everyday snack ?

Plain cheese on toast is a bit boring.
I prefer cheesetoast with tuna and pineapple ring.

Basically give me a melted cheese butty with toast instead of bread.

Alternatively, a little tin of mackrels in spicy mexican salsa spread amongst the cheese is good;

Or, a few slices of chorizo and pineapple, just to get the savages upset.

I love a good cheese on toast, just with a bit of sauce.

But occasionally I'd like to add a little extra for flavour, I admit. Maybe a tomato, or some bacon, or an egg.

Toasties are different, you want cheese and onion, or cheese and baked beans, rather than the plain cheese. Tuna or Mackerel Toastie is pretty fancy, too.
