Usually girls I've dated would refer to me as their 'Boyfriend'.

The girl I'm currently seeing refers to me as her 'Partner'....

Is there a difference ? If so what is it.....?

The age of the woman....my last long term girlfriend who was in her late 30's, refused to call me "boyfriend"...she thought it was for kids.

Gay people use the word partner for eachothee.

Maybe she's a man.

Where is it you live again, Thailand?

Yeah partner is abit more mature apparently

They'd prefer to say "husband" but in lieu of that, "partner" is the next best thing. It implies some sort of longer term commitment than "boyfriend". 17 year old girls have boyfriends every other week. Girls in their 20's use the term boyfriend to identify guys they're sleeping with because it gives them cover from being called a ****, and not in the way girls call each other ****s for fun.

I just asked the mature lady here in the office (she is on the market boys!!!)

She said 'boyfriend' Unless she had been with him for 4-5 years, then she would call him her partner.

Jesus, that's kind of what I thought....older women thing.....

But this girl is 24 and I've dated her since March.

Must be a nester.
