It's a striker triple threat!

A cracking 3 strikers in the Italian game there. Vieri and Crespo had a crack at it in other top leagues with mixed success but Batistuta is Batistuta. The ultimate striker of his time. He's my pick.

Who would yours be?

While I agree Batistuta smashes this one out of the park goals wise its actually pretty close between all three.

I see we have a vote for Vieri and I can understand that. 24 in 24 for At Madrid is impressive and I think that would put him just ahead of Crespo. Just.

These thread although called a 'Showdown' aren't really. It's more to discuss boss old players. And maybe a few clips and memories.
Keep posting mate I'm enjoying them.

I will respond to each one with virtually the same post though if you keep picking one choice that's obviously the dogs compared to the others.

I found picking Batistuta a challenger hard as I love him so much so picked 2! And still got it wrong.

Early days though.

Batistuta, legend, and stayed at Fiorentina when he could have chased money and trophies.

Always admire him for staying when they got relegated.

Vieri and Batistuta would have been very interesting to see in England. Vieri probably would have ended up at Chelsea had he come over but Batistuta could have had his pick of just about any team.
