Think this deserves a thread of its own.

I've played, watched and coached football for over thirty years now , in my opinion anybody who ended up in goal was purey because they were not good enough to be picked to play out.... Example being the fat smelly kid at school that nobody picked so always ended up last pick and got shoved in goal.

Where woud you choose to play ?

Bear in mind, even fat, unfit people can play in goal.....you can even have your own packed lunch if you like whilst the game carries on with you on the periphery.

Are you a goalie Kurt, do you need some gloves?

I used to play midfield or behind striker, good right foot and above average left foot, this was many moons ago and before I discovered that Hockey is much better to play as a sport.

I always got put in goal for kick abouts because of my size but was **** at it, much preferred playing out of goal. Tended to play as a midfielder mostly but in my one appearance for my junior school's B team I played centre back and we got hammered by a rival's A team 5-1 and were lucky to only lose by 4. Could take a mean free kick though the best goal I scored was during a school yard game were me and my mate played a 1-2 and I slotted in from about the edge of the box

Best level I played at was Stockport County when I was younger (19 now).
Just wasn't good enough in the end and was really lazy.

I always say I want to get back playing sunday league again at RB/LB but I'm literally too scared, haven't played since I left so about 7years ago. Only time I have touched a ball after I got dropped is passing it back to a group of kids when crossing the road:lol:

I could read the game too easy and no-one would ever get past my side. My shot power was shocking but I could pick a pass out and take throws like Delap obviously not as long though but you get the jist

...Stockport County. I scored 2 at Edgeley Park, loved that little ground but understand its a bit run down now.
