All week the papers were full of "lockdown to be loosened Sunday", preparing people for that eventuality that didn't happen. With that, the jumbled messages and the change in the slogans it's almost as if Government wanted the country back open but without being held accountable if it backfired.

Believing papers is the problem. The symbiosis between a mass media device to feed belief to the public and a government who in return offers gongs and tax avoidance schemes to the billionaire owners is blatant. The owners will print anything to keep the right wing in power.

Oh I agree Chris and it's likely ministers fed the info to their favoured journalist's. There's a lot of idiots who'll believe anything papers like the Scum print, so is it improbable that this is a way to achieve herd immunity, blame free?

Almost certainly. And the cost in life will be enormous but business and shareholders will be happy to get everyone working again a few months sooner.
