Ralphie Boy

Player Valuation: £8m
So the swans have come out and stated they want 19 mill for bony according to Skysports this morning?

With what Lukaku has been saying about hopefully getting a chance at Chelsea do you think we should jump in now and secure Bony or wait for whatever is left and end out with a Lambert, Borini, Darren Bent kind of addition.

I know we have already had the 'In Martinez we trust' thread but this is for us as well as a number of other teams a vital position to fill that could be the difference between the push to the holy grail of CL football or the nearly ran?

Personally would like to see business done for this particular position done before the World Cup as the inflated prices of decent strikers will only grow if they succeed, Lukaku already scoring for fun at the moment.

no news then, prob best in transfer thread i should think...everytime a thread is started on a player i think we have/will sign them ffs!

A lot of money. If Martinez decides to splash the cash and it works he will be considered a great manager in the transfer market securing a goal scoring striker but if it turns out he flops its gonna be £19m wasted and that's what people will always look at. It's a big gamble for Everton as for us is a lot of money, someone like Utd or Arsenal could get away with it but we certainly couldn't. £19m on one player for Everton? No Bill says to get 3 or 4 with that.

he's not worth £19m imo, but he probably would become worth that to us if we bought him, he has every attribute to be a success with us, i have no doubt. he's scored the big goals as well

Bit of a steep price to be honest. I think that's overpaying, but that could just be the tight-arse Evertonian in me.

That said, we never, ever spend money so saving it does nothing for us fans. I'd rather see us splurge for once.

Think this is where I am too.

It is a lot, but we're gonna have to spend a huge amount to get anyone half as good as Lukaku.

Strikers who have just had a decent season don't come cheap.

He may be worth 19 but we are Everton, we can't throw that type of money at one player because chances are that's our whole budget

But it could well be that it isn't our whole budget....if we can afford to throw a bit of money about, then striker is obviously where we are going to do it. Bony is a player, if the money was there, I'd pay 19m for.
