I'm usually very private, don't give personal info away on here and I've never done anything like this because had no need to, but feel need to publicise.
The little girl below is all but legally my niece (I'm not married to my partner, but after 12 years together I may as well be). The parents, Andy & Kirsty Gilbert, were married shortly before Christmas and everything looked fantastic for them - young couple, two young but very happy kids.
Just after Christmas, Bonnie and her older brother began to feel ill and the parents thought it was just a cold, like anyone would. Then within the space of 24 hours Bonnie took a turn for the worse and was hospitalised. She went rapidly downhill and died from streptococcal toxic shock syndrome, 30 December - from a bacteria that would give most people just a sore throat... Her brother Riley is recovering from Scarlet Fever.
The reason for this post is to ask if you have a few spare quid to help the parents give this little angel the funeral she deserves - the wedding and Christmas has had a big effect on what they can do.
If you can't donate, it's enough to know that this little angel and her family is in your thoughts.
