Bolton issued with winding up order

Yeah game on the telly I think , but it was at their place the header crossed the line the ref didn’t give it . If he had and points were the same they’d have stayed up we’d have been in trouble , I think . I’m sure it was a defender of theirs who headed it.

Edit — just checked it was 97 , first game at the Reebok and gerry Taggart who headed it apparently terry Phelan cleared it after it had crossed the line . If it’d have counted and everything remained the same throughout the season we’d have been relegated. I remember going there like it was yesterday , i can’t believe it was that long ago to be honest .

Read my posts in the previous pages about that 'goal' incident, specifically that the Bolton fans conveniently forget that Southall was absolutely clobbered a couple of seconds before the 'goal', so if the game had been officiated correctly we should have had a free kick anyway and they would not have had a 'goal'...

Sorry mate I wasn’t arguing the case for them just answering a question that’d been posed .

I do remember the game fairly well. I don’t know about you but looking at your name you might be the same as me, I have no difficulty recalling what happened 20 years ago it’s more what somebody said to be a couple of hours ago that’s the problem .

Always Bolton getting the winding up notices and never the RS. Life is not fair. HMRC want to look at the real damage clubs cause and not just have they paid tax. Still there is always hope with Brexit their Norwegian fans won't get visas and they will go bust that way.

Yeah, I understand.

What I find somewhat hilarious is that that game was very early on in the season, so they had about 30 games to sort themselves out. Then, when they get relegated, they harp back to that one incident several months previous, and as I said, omitting to mention the foul on Southall. Selective memories, methinks.

What was the deal when they got relegated but some of the Bolton fans said it should of been us going down but the ref made some mistake in a game between us? anyone remember?

1. Foul on southall
2. Final whistle would not have been blown if goal was given
3. Goals change games, and was on top of the game (imo)
4. 30 + games to make up those points
5. Villa away, Bolton had a goal incorrectly given to them.

Remember getting chased to the train station by a group of funny looking and sounding Bolton fans after a night match a few years back. Relegate them

Don’t mind Bolton , have had a few proper last minute goals there that have been fun.

Remember one in the cup a few years ago , Heitinga scored last minute and half the home end went up. Blues everywhere lol

That was one of my favourite GOT moments that - these forums went absolutely mental when Moyes brought Heitinga on, 1-1 away to a Championship side in an FA Cup match, for a striker. Page after page of GET HIM OUT OF OUR CLUB and such like. Then he scores the winner.
