Funnily enough I couldn't look at the boiler again today because our dodgy electrics blew and while I was going to get some parts I crashed into a motor cyclist. Couldn't make it up really

OK, so I read (and laughed at) this thread before I went out.

Jusr got back to find no heat and no hot water. (both OK at 7.30) Combi boiler (Veissmann Vittodens 100) is showing code 'F4'
Tried switching it off/on obviously, and have also smothered it in sawdust and rice, but nothing is happening. HELP.

Take the batteries out
Put them in the fridge all night
Replace batteries.
Works every time

Engineer was here for less than 10 minutes
"Just a bit of a blockage. It's a common thing with these boilers" (viessmann 100)

"£40 please"

Called out the experts. Wasn't firing on full gas. Total cost of fixing €10. Happy days
