FOOTBALL boss Roberto Martinez has revealed his secret for a happy marriage – his and her tellies.
The couple have two big screens in their living room and cuddle up to watch them together.
And while his Scots missus Beth watches soaps, the Everton manager keeps an eye on the football with his headphones on.
Roberto, 40, said: “We can sit together, at the corner point of the sofa, while looking directly at our own TVs.
“I sit watching football with my headphones on while Beth has the sound on watching whatever it is she wants to.
“But we are sitting together. That is the main thing.
“It has saved my marriage.”
Roberto met Beth, 31, while he was playing for Motherwell at the start of the Noughties.
Beth – now an events manager – was studying at Glasgow University at the time.
Roberto’s playing career took him back south to Walsall, Swansea City and Chester City before going into management with Swansea.
He took over from David Moyes at Everton in the summer after winning the FA Cup with Wigan last May.
The couple married in June 2009 at the Cathedral Church of St Joseph in Swansea.
Their pet Pomeranian Leo was the chief bridesmaid, while ex-Manchester United winger Jordi Cruyff was best man.
The recent birth of daughter Luella added to the family. And Roberto said being a dad has made his life better.
He said: “She’s as good as gold.
“It has changed our lives but in some ways it has actually made things easier.
“Our life is more structured now. 5pm is bath time. 10pm is bed.”
