Can somebody teach me all about Bob Latchford please?

Not the usual stuff I can get off Wiki. Like people who saw him play. What was he like? What style was he?

I just don't know much about this legend and would like to learn.

Thanks.

Big, powerful, great in the air and good on the deck. He could miss easy sitters but was always in there looking for goals. Above all, he could walk on water. He was my seventies hero was big Bob. Any striker who bags a ton of goals for his club deserve legendery status, take note Big Dunc worshipers.

the latch was CLASS my biggest idol .loved the man allong with links the best goal scorer ive seen in my 40 odd years watching the toffs

He just had the knack - he wasn't the most elegant player but he had a deft touch in the box. His near post headers were so subtle I sometimes couldn't tell he had actually touched the ball, but he would also get really ugly scrambled efforts, off his arse if need be.

He was just determined to score.

imagine your favourite woman. Put an everton shirt on her. Put her up front and watch her score 30 goals in a season. How beautiful is she now?

She's still not as beautiful as Big Bob Latchford!!

Fantastic Memories that!
Remember on "On the Ball" before the game someone said whoever wins this game will probably win the League, I think it Malcolm Allison. Came out the ground about 3 ft off the ground.
